Online businesses require very little overhead.  Brick and Mortar businesses are risky because of the huge potential of failure and losses.  If you started an online business and it failed, you would be out very little money ($10 for a domain name and $6.00 a month for a hosting company fee and any paid advertising you decided to invest in).  Other than that, the risk of loss is minimal.

Let me ask you a few questions to see if having a home-based internet business is a good fit for you?

  • Would you like a 1 or 2-minute commute to your computer (home office) or do you prefer to drive miles in rush hour traffic to a “job”?
  • Would you like to be your own boss or do you like being told what to do?
  • Do you like spending time with your family, enjoying your hobbies and having fun or do you like being stuck in a cubicle?

The world is changing rapidly.  Are you changing with it?

Now more than ever the saying, “Here today gone tomorrow” is true when it comes to employment and our income.

I have always believed in having multiple streams of income for one big reason: 

“When one stream dries up, it’s so important to have another one flowing in.”

I usually have 4-6 streams of income coming in these days.  As a matter of fact, I just added a new stream of income.  Since writing is my talent, I have become a certified provider on www.elance.com which is a website that connects freelancers with people who are looking to hire freelancers in many areas such as:  writers (ghostwriters, blog writers, technical writers, press release writers, business proposal writers), software developers, virtual assistants, logo design, graphic artists, video producers, and much, much more.

In my first week as an Elance Provider, I was hired by 2 women to ghostwrite ebooks for them.  One woman resides in Australia and the other woman resides in England.  This is a new stream of income for me and one that I can do in my free time.  I can write in the middle of the night if I like!

So how many streams of income do you have right now?
